The crew from Bumpy Pitch have released a new design that was inspired by their own personal relationship with the late US Olympic soccer coach Clive Charles.
We had the pleasure of playing for Clive Charles on the US Olympic Team back in the day (Dunny much longer than myself). Clive was an amazing human being and coach. I’m sure anyone that ever met him, played for him, was a teammate, etc would tell you the exact same thing.
The design elements pay tribute to Clive. His initials and retired number are featured on one of the axe handles, with the opposite handle seeing a nod to 2009 and the year that Portland was awarded an MLS franchise.
“Rose City” is a tribute to their friend who they believe made an enormous mark on their lives. It can be ordered for $30 via Bumpy Pitch. A portion of the sales will go to Clive’s family.
