For the past two years I’ve been living in Oakland, CA. If you’re from here or live here now, you’ll know that residents have a whole lot of pride for the city. Maybe it’s because the city gets so much crap from people who live elsewhere that we feel the need to band together. I don’t know. There are some definite things that need to be improved upon. The crime is out of control. But, there are so many special things about this city. I’m surrounded by artists. Musicians, filmmakers, writers, graffiti artists, painters. Everyday there are three or four events I have to choose from to attend.
So while I’m not going to be a poser and pretend I grew up in Oakland, I have no problem in expressing my love for where I live now.
All this babbling is meant to lead up to featuring the Oakland Oaks 1911 Ballcap from Ebbets Field Flannels. The crew at Ebbets must be working nonstop, seriously, because there are so many brands that are collaborating with them right now. While perusing their site, I spotted their Oakland Oaks 1911 piece. The Oakland Oaks were a minor league baseball team in the Pacific Coast League and this hat is an exact replica from the team’s headwear in 1911. It’s made of white and navy wool broadcloth and features an embroidered emblem with a short visor.
It’s beautiful, no? Whether you’re a lover of Oakland or not. This piece stands on its own. You can get it for $59 via Ebbets.

Don't be selfish. Share the goods.
