Storenvy’s ‘hope for Haiti’
Storenvy has done something incredibly cool and have gathered designs from different artists, all meant to raise money for relief efforts in Haiti.
$8 from the $14 sale price of each shirt sold will go to The American Red Cross.
Plus, there are nine designs to choose from. I’ve put a couple of my favorites below, but check Storenvy’s website to see the entire Hope For Haiti collection.
Union LA’s Mos Def “ecstatic” shirt
From January 30th to February 6th, Union LA is hosting a photography exhibit with work from Cognito. Cognito is known for his candid shots of musical artists such as Erykah Badu, Oh No, Jay Electronica, Madlib, and Mos Def.
In June of 2009, Mos Def released, in my opinion, the best hip-hop album of the year, “Ecstatic,” and to collaborate with Union LA’s exhibition, has released a special commemorative tee featuring one of Cognito’s photos of Mos Def holding his incredible album record.
Get it for $38 via Union LA. (originally spotted this tee at High Snobriety)
silhouettes and vinyl
Wow. Get a load of these brand new designs from Junior Massive. Using pieces of vinyl and black silhouette, they create images of subjects, each using the hole of the record as the eye of the subject.
You’re going to need to save your pennies though. Each piece is $55 AUD. Get ‘em at Junior Massive.
we can’t let work win.
An oldie, but still a goodie, “The War Against Work” was one amongst a group of today’s reprint releases from Threadless.
This one was my favorite of the week, probably because my entire body is fighting being productive today.
Get it for $18 via Threadless.
no mas doesn’t question God’s abilities
No Mas has a new tee entitled “Fight Tor Fight,” which promotes the idea that everybody is somebody. Every one of us has a chance of making something of ourselves, whether it’s landing a powerful position viewable to the world, or keeping one’s positive doings undercover.
Get “Fight Tor Fight” for $25 via No Mas.
when it comes down to it, it’s a “good world” – Print Liberation
Enough complaining. Some situations and things that happen suck in life. That’s just the fact of it. But overall, life is a gift that we’ve all been given. When it comes down to it, this is a good world.
“Good World” is a new design from Print Liberation. I could probably do without the smiley face, but I don’t completely hate it. Eh… it’s actually growing on me. If you like this tee, you can get it for $22 via Print Liberation.
a typewriter that represents so much more
This design is about more than just a typewriter. It’s really about the freedom of speech. It’s about the opportunity for everyone to share their ideas. Although some ideas may be extreme, radical, or ridiculous, they’re all important.
Love Nail Tree’s “Typewriter Kills Fascists” is available for $24.
be your own genius
It’s obvious that I’m a huge fan of typography designs. They provide an opportunity for wimpy and quiet people like me to make a statement.
“Be Your Own Genius” from Unscripted Clothing is exactly what I’m talking about. Anything that pushes you to be better, to challenge yourself and really work for something, is awesome in my book.
The design is available in cranberry and black and will cost you $30.
three little cameras sitting on a shirt…
My photography game is wack, so I would pretty much be a complete poser if I wore this design. For those of you who are into the artistic expression of photos, however, this vintage camera American Apparel tee seems to be perfect.
Get it for $20 via MartyMay.
back… to the future!
Automatic points because I was the perfect age to devour this movie when it came out, but the brand new Back To The Future-inspired design from Glennz is a-okay in my book.
Poor Marty’s going to have to handle more than just timing the lightning strike now.
You can get “Stuck in the Past” for $19.95 via Glennz.
write love on her arms
The people that work for To Write Love On Her Arms must go home every night and just feel so damn good about how they spend their day. If you’re not familiar, the company is dedicated to helping people who have lost their way a bit, have fallen to depression, and are contemplating whether to continue their lives.
Not only do they make an incredible impact on people’s lives, they sell some really dope gear to help raise funds. I have a hoodie of theirs and it’s probably my single favorite item hanging in my closet.
They recently released a couple of new tees. Most are available in both men’s and women’s cuts, so find their full collection, here.
a homage to warhol
Jon Wye’s probably best known for his belts, but he’s also got a great collection of tees.
The “Warhol Homage” is an updated version of their signature design. A chic in heels with a gun… hmm… I’ll take it! It’s only available in men’s cuts, which is a bummer because I would totally rock this thing.
Get it for $36 via Jon Wye.
