Ava Domina’s Spring 2010 Lookbook

Wow. I am permanently in debt to The Fresh Stock for putting me on to Ava Domina. I love everything about their new Love and War Spring 2010 Lookbook. Can I have one of each please?

AVA (pronounced Ahh-Vahh) – A feminine name derived from Eve, which is derived from the Hebrew “chavah” meaning “life”.

DOMINA (pronounced Doe-Meena) – Dame, lady, ’she who rules’.

Additionally, the name Ava Domina is a derivative of Anno Domini (’Year of Our Lord’, the latin meaning behind AD (After Death), BC (Before Christ).

“The Spring introductory collection is called Love and War, a juxtaposition of the two themes and the complex meanings behind them. This offering uses stark designs and a color scheme that is almost entirely in black and white. A lack of color in the lookbook helps bring this point out as well.”
