Dephect celebrates the birthday of the greatest hip-hop producer of all time with their new J Dilla Changed My Life tee, which features the original artwork from his Shining album.
Stones Throw presents their latest tee paying tribute to the late hip-hop producer J-Dilla. The tee features the cover art from Dilla’s great Donuts album.
How freaking awesome is this? You’ve probably seen this J Dilla Changed My Life tee. However, this is the first time it’s getting it’s official release. The first tee was personally made by DJ Deckstarr, who was opening for J Dilla in what would be Dilla’s last show in Germany in 2005. DJ Deckstarr wanted to take the opportunity to let Dilla know the impact that he had made on him and his music.
Since then, the shirt has popped up here and there as people have made their own versions. Now, Stones Throw and Pay Jay Productions are releasing the official J Dilla Changed My Life tee.
It’s available now for $25 via Stones Throw. Shipping date is set for October 8.
“Suite for Ma Dukes” is a tribute to J Dilla by musical artists Carlos Nino and Miguel Atwood Ferguson, who interpreted his music and applied it to their own contemporary chamber musical style. Be sure to grab it via Stones Throw.
Dephect has released a tee to promote the musical piece. The tee, “Suite for Ma Dukes,” is available for £24.99 via Dephect, with all proceeds being donated to the J Dilla Foundation and Lupus UK.
Dephect has once again teamed up with The Doctor’s Orders to present their annual J-Dilla Changed My Life nights. The event pays tribute to the life and work of the great hip-hop producer and emcee. There are three events, including Sunday, February 5 in London, Friday, February 3 in Manchester, and Saturday, February 4 in Brighton. Info on the events can be found here.
At the events, they will be selling their “J Dilla Changed My Life” tee, with all proceeds being donated to the J Dilla Foundation and Lupus UK. The artwork was done by studiooscar.com.

Dearly Departed has collaborated with The J Dilla Foundationand released a tee and hoodie to raise money to support the foundation, which funds music programs in inner city schools.
The tee is available in both black and white colorways while the hoodie comes in only black.

Madd Bananaz is releasing aJ Dilla tee and crewneck sweatshirt, which places cut images of J Dilla produced albums within the silhouette of the man himself.
Five dollars from each “Unique Way of Living” tee will be donated to the Alliance for Lupus Research in J Dilla’s honor. The shirt and crewneck will go on sale on Saturday, April 3rd at midnight (CST).
Stones Throwhas partnered with Stussyto release a limited J Dilla tee, dawning Raph Rashid’s famous photograph of the GREATEST hip-hop producer ever doing his thing in his at home studio in 2005.
