How freaking awesome is this? You’ve probably seen this J Dilla Changed My Life tee. However, this is the first time it’s getting it’s official release. The first tee was personally made by DJ Deckstarr, who was opening for J Dilla in what would be Dilla’s last show in Germany in 2005. DJ Deckstarr wanted to take the opportunity to let Dilla know the impact that he had made on him and his music.
Since then, the shirt has popped up here and there as people have made their own versions. Now, Stones Throw and Pay Jay Productions are releasing the official J Dilla Changed My Life tee.
It’s available now for $25 via Stones Throw. Shipping date is set for October 8.
“Suite for Ma Dukes” is a tribute to J Dilla by musical artists Carlos Nino and Miguel Atwood Ferguson, who interpreted his music and applied it to their own contemporary chamber musical style. Be sure to grab it via Stones Throw.
Dephect has released a tee to promote the musical piece. The tee, “Suite for Ma Dukes,” is available for £24.99 via Dephect, with all proceeds being donated to the J Dilla Foundation and Lupus UK.
