Derby of San Francisco celebrated the opening of their flagship store in San Francisco last Friday. The event marked the return of the legendary Derby jacket, which was a fashion icon in SF in the 1970′s and 80′s. The jacket is available in six colorways (though it looks like they’re in the process of restocking after selling out over the weekend).

Derby of San Francisco is located at 1472 Haight Street off the corner of Ashby. Check out their video, which will give you an idea of what they’re coming with (as well as an awesome depiction of life in the Bay).

Last month Benny Gold and Knockaround released their collaborative 1937 Fort Knocks sunglasses, which paid tribute to the 75th Anniversary of the Golden Gate Bridge.

Benny Gold and Knockaround have come together to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Golden Gate Bridge with their 1937 Sunglasses. The glasses will be released this Friday, September 28th, at a release party in-store at Benny Gold (3169 16th Street, San Francisco) from 6 to 9 pm.

Looks like there will be free PBR and giveaways to accommodate the release of the 1937 Sunglasses.

Last August I hopped in the car and moseyed on down to Long Beach to attend the Agenda Trade Show. I had never been to one before and am trying to step it up around here (hopefully you’ve noticed). I was excited to take a gander at what many of my favorite brands had in store for the coming seasons. OBEY Clothing was there. As well as Charlie Noble, Chrome, Brixton (though they wouldn’t let a measly blogger check out their new goods), Herschel Supply, Chrome, Staple and a bazillion more. It was a super cool event and I hope to go when it comes up again in January.

Apparently, Johnny Cupcakes doesn’t stay home too often. After just recently finishing up his Taste Makers tour, he’s now announced his upcoming Coffin Tour 2012. Once again, he and his team will hop in the Cupcake mobile and stop at 21 cities throughout the United States.

At each of the 21 stops, they will present a one-night only pop up shop with tour exclusive shirts, hats and accessories. The tour starts in New York and finished up in Boston. Check out the other dates below.

In related news, Johnny also recently presented his JC Basics Collection, which as the title suggests, features pieces of simplistic design. Included in the collection is the War Pocket Tee and the Crossbones Pocket Tee. Both are available to preview below and to order via Johnny Cupcakes.

Last week (wait, was it last week… my schedule’s been too busy lately), I attended the Agenda Show in Long Beach. It was my first time making the trek down south and I’m so incredibly happy that I did. One of the brands I discovered with TAVIK, which offers menswear and women’s swimwear.

The TAVIK team announced yesterday that Mark Powell will be taking lead as Creative Brand Director, making him in charge of the brand’s global design direction. He’s got some experience under his belt, including running his own visual marketing agency (Humble Giants) and serving as Art Director for an array of brands in the action sports industry.

Powell led the design execution of TAVIK‘s Holiday 2012 line and their Spring 2012 Collection, which I was able to check out in person at Agenda and quickly fell in love with.

This is an important move for both TAVIK and Powell, and I’m excited to see what continues to come from their partnership.

The Brooklyn Circus celebrates being in San Francisco for four years with a weekend block party that will feature live dj acts, a beer and wine garden, and limited edition product releases.

The event takes place both this Saturday and Sunday, July 7th and 8th, from 11 am to 6 pm. The Brooklyn Circus is located at 1521 Filmore Street, San Francisco.

DefamNation and Boston-based brand Annie Mulz have collaborated to offer up their The Rise and Fall Collection, which includes a silver plated steel pendant.

This pendant represents both aspects of the brand, one side for the beginning of creation (Annie Mulz) and the other side for the end of all things to come (DefamNation).

The Collection will drop this Friday, June 22nd, celebrated at the Collection Release Party at Green Street Jungle (242 Newbury Street, Boston). The even twill feature live music and refreshments.

Benny Gold‘s new Valencia Collection drops this Saturday, May 5, and to celebrate, he’s hosting a release party with free PBR. Food will also be available via Voodoo Van.

The shin-dig runs from 3-7 and takes place at Benny’s flagship store (3169 16th Street, San Francisco). Below you can check out selected pieces in the Valencia Collection. If you missed earlier preview images, check them out here.

5&A Dime will be presenting their Spring 2012 “Riches & Rags” Collection this Thursday, March 29th at their release party.

This series of graphics gives a playful nod to the current economic climate (the ruling elite v. the poorest) and represents our view of the world around us.

The party features tunes and drinks and it starts 7 pm. 5&A Dime is located at the corner of 8th Avenue and G Street in Downtown San Diego.

Dephect has once again teamed up with The Doctor’s Orders to present their annual J-Dilla Changed My Life nights. The event pays tribute to the life and work of the great hip-hop producer and emcee. There are three events, including Sunday, February 5 in London, Friday, February 3 in Manchester, and Saturday, February 4 in Brighton. Info on the events can be found here.

At the events, they will be selling their “J Dilla Changed My Life” tee, with all proceeds being donated to the J Dilla Foundation and Lupus UK. The artwork was done by studiooscar.com.

For those who are unable to attend the events, you’ll be happy to hear that the tee will also be available online after February 5. You will be able to order it via Dephect. Also, be sure to listen to the J Dilla mix by DJ GETZ to promote the event by DJ GETZ here.

Reason Clothing recently opened up a shop in New York (436 E. 9th Street) and to celebrate, put together a short promo video that showcases the development process and the effort it took to open the store.

Publish Brand finally releases their “The Jogger Pants” tonight, January 5, at Attick in Buena Park.

Curse every single one of you who is in Southern California and has the opportunity to go to this. These exclusive jogger pants will only be available for sale at Attick this one night. There will also be giveaways and complimentary drinks/h’orderves. The first 25 to step in the door will get a Publish gift card.

Below The Surface is celebrating the release of their Winter 2011 Collection, “Uptown Roamers,” with a release party in Northern California.

The festivities take place Sunday, December 18 from 12-4 pm at 37500 Central Court, Newark, CA.

Those in attendance will have the opportunity to take 50% off selected styles.

Series 6 from Fur Face Boy will drop this Saturday at We are 1976 in Dallas, but today we get a little preview look at what will be coming.

The new Series features eight tees, two crewneck fleece, one zip-up hoodie and a collared polo.

For those not in the Dallas area, Fur Face Boy will release the Series online on Monday morning. I’ve already set my own reminder in my phone so I can grab one of those pocket crews.
